TU/e Diagnostic Test of Professional Skills
You have received an invitation to the TU/e Diagnostic Test of Professional Skills from your program director. You can find the TU/e Diagnostic Test of Professional Skills on the TU/e SkillsLab.
The TU/e Diagnostic Test of Professional skills is a skills assessment and is part of each Master’s program which you need to complete within the first quartile of your education program (see the Program and Examination regulations 2016-2017 of your department, Article 3.4).
A recent study about the employability of higher education graduates shows that graduates who have better skills, have a better chance of securing long-term employment, but also tend to gain a higher salary.
In short: skills equal income.
Your current skills level
Before further developing your skills, the first step is to find out what your current skills level is. Hence, this assessment.
The TU/e Diagnostic Test of Professional Skills helps you to determine your level on skills that are essential for becoming a successful researcher, designer, teacher, entrepreneur or manager.
The test is comprised of four mandatory elements:
- A Broad Test on Skills (SKL00)
- In-depth Test on Teamwork Skills (SKL10)
- In-depth Test on Presentation Skills (SKL20)
- In-depth Test on Academic Writing Skills (SKL30)
Every element will provide you with a personal report that gives you more insight in the level of your professional skills and competences.
Personal Development Plan
The TU/e Diagnostic Test of Professional Skills gives you a good starting point to work on the development of your professional skills and competences. You can use the personal reports from the test to write your Personal Development Plan which you subsequently discuss with your mentor.
If you have any questions about the outcomes of your assessment or you want to discuss the outcomes or your personal development plan with an expert, please contact the TU/e SkillsLab Team.
